My painting practice is, like a twin, both impressionism and expressionism.

My landscape paintings are impressionist local scenes
using paint and gestural marks. Fleeting moments captured in paint. I enjoy painting or drawing in nature and freely drawing to capture its essence in the light, the foliage and the distinctive colours of the land.

My studio works are more conceptual compositions, often graphic still life botanical arrangements with unique natural foliage. I am influenced by the expressionist movement, where the use of colour is vivid and deliberately intense, where the emotional mood of the day is revealed in the work. Bringing bold colour into a room is transformative.
