About THE ARTIST
My artwork is inspired by visits to the diverse environments of Australia—places that make me feel alive and inspired. Painting landscapes revives me and gives me freedom to explore and reflect on the beauty of nature.
My paintings capture seasonal colours and atmosphere. I blend impressionist marks with bold fauvist use of colour and interplays of light and shadow or patterns in trees or geology. These artworks explore my feelings of being in a place not soley literal representations.
Jacqui exhibits her art in Melbourne galleries and regional art shows.
Her shows Terranium - Inland - Forest Bathing - Vitamin Sea - Intertidal
are a sequence of representations of freshly visited places - from the arid Flinders Ranges to deep forests of the Dandenongs to wide vistas of Gippsland and Australia's southern coastline.
Jacqui was part of the Dandenong Ranges Open Studios over the last two decades before relocating to the Bass Coast in 2025.
